In Memory...

This hoop was stitched up for a gal in the Birthday Swap. She wanted a hoop that had the word Dia, which is a reference to her grandmother whom she called Dia. She had also just found out that dia also means day in Spanish.

How could I not stitch up this hoop? It appealed to me in the love that I had for my own mamaw as well as the Spanish teacher in me. I decided to combine the birthday gal's favorite colors (blue and orange) with the day theme to create a sort of sunburst with Dia.
