Pleasantly Perched

I'm really starting to get into the doodling needlework concept but I've come to the conclusion that it slows me down (not necessarily a bad thing...).

This is a piece that I stitched up last week for the Ongoing Hoopla swap. I combined a bit of crayon tinting with some doodle trees and birds. I thought I would never finish those trees which goes to show how dependent I have been (notice use of past tense here!) on my pattern.

I found my inspiration for the design in my partner's wist on a set of plates. :)

The trees are worked in split stitch. The birds in split and back with little french knot eyes.
