Wow! This so exciting! My first blog giveaway!
In celebration of reaching 50+ followers, I am going to create and giveaway a 6-7" wooden hoop filled with the embroidery design of choice of the GIVEAWAY WINNER!
Here's how to enter the GIVEAWAY:
- You must be a follower of my blog.
- Post below about where you find your crafty inspiration! Is it in a book? Nature? Your kids?
- On June 14th, I will draw randomly a winner! (I have to figure out how to use that randomizer thing. ;) )
And for some added incentive, here's my latest bit of stitching.
I made this for a fellow Craftster in the Ongoing Hoopla Swap. She loves the same colors as I do and had a floral theme on her hoopla wish list so I created this hoop.

As for a tiny bit of Me update, I get my life back as of Friday. This year's End of School Year Crazy has been more taxing than previous years. I don't like being the bearer of Bad News but it is part of my job. *sigh*...Only 2 more school days to go! I think I can...I think I can...

Yay!!! I'm so glad you decided to go with a hoop! A lot of my craft inspiration comes from browsing craftster, but sometimes it's looking at clothes, or just figuring out how to make something that I need.
Ooooh! My crafty inspiration...all the lovely people on craftster, esp from swapping, and recently from browsing through pinterest. Also just looking through my supplies and figuring out what I can make with what I already have. :)
Congrats on 50 followers!
Woo hoo! I hope I win. Your embroidery is terrific :) Lately, I've been getting crafty inspiration from Pinterest, too! And books and TV and birds and nature and culture and blogs and whatnot!
Of course my inspiration comes from Craftster! Lately I've been loving a blog called Tatertots and Jello too, she links to cool projects all over the interwebs.
Most of my inspiration comes from craftster and now pinterest also!
All the blogs I follow give me inspiration, as well as a good conversation with fellow crafters, but those are pretty much the same thing. I, too, am a fan of Craftster and Pinterest!
So you work part-time, right, only 120 students? jk! Just found you today, and had to laugh...I have two great kids (girls 12 and 16)...I have setting a zipper on my bucket list, even though my sister has taught me at least 6 times, I teach high school, math, I have 120 students, and this is 67%...love crafting and embroidery. You can see some of my work on our travel blog:

Off to write a final for tomorrow morning...nothing like craft blogs to procrastinate! Best, Amy
Hi Ms. Zimmer! Yeah, at 120 students, I'm not at capacity either but I will be next year. I could have over 180. EEP! Good luck with your finals! :)
Keep the comments coming! I can't wait to start stitching up this hoop! :D
I definitely a lot of my inspiration from Crafster, but also from Wists, Etsy, Ravelry, and the web in general. There's just too much stimulation out there! I'd want to try it all, learn it all... A lot comes from my mood and my friends, what I think they'd like, impulse purchases of supplies, or thrift store visits. I have way more "in the works" projects and "to do" projects than I could every finish, but that's part of the fun - the infinete possibilities of one + the world's creativity and ideas!!!
im a new follower, you were mentioned as a great embroidery teacher/resource on crafster ;-). my inspiration comes from life, really, i will see something and think 'how can i translate that into art/craft with what i have?' and of course craftster is becoming a big part of that, im trying to learn some embroidery so i can start making awesome hoops like ive seen on there!

Honestly I get most of my inspiration from Craftster. It's one reason why I love the swaps, because I am often at a loss as to what to craft, they give great direction! The rest of the time it comes from my boyfriend who always has a great opinion on what I'm working on.
PS - I love your blog, and I love you on Craftster. ;)
Hello Genie, PinkElephantPrincess and Jessica!
Genie...I figured out how I knew you. ;) I'm like you in that there's too much to learn and not enough hours in the day. LOL
PEP ...I look forward to seeing your hoops! Let me know if I can help. :D
Jess...Thank you, you just made me smile inside and out.
Your hoops are amazing, I only have really basic embroidery skills and can't wait to learn more. I get crafty inspiration from music and nature. I also craft when I have a big emotion I need to express.
I've been admiring your hooping skills for a while now as they pop up on Craftster ^_^ I find it really fun to see someone grow through their craft! Most of my inspiration comes from nature, television, and browsing the net (especially Craftster :D). Keep up the great work, hun, and I look forward to future crafts from you!
This is my first time to this blog but it's absolutely lovely! Lots of good embroidery tips. :)
I get my crafty inspiration mostly from modern design, vintage fashion, and graphic design. I like taking current trends and mixing it up with vintage classic designs. Also color schemes/color palettes can be very inspiring on its own.
Hello ADDgrrl (love that username btw!), tcmatteson and DesignVigilante!
ADDgrrl - Thank you! :)
tcm - Aw...shucks. ;) I get a lot of inspiration in nature whether directly from it or while sitting watching the wind blow through the trees.
DV!!! - Thank you! I'm slowly coming around to modern designs. I spent nearly 2 decades studying historical design in costuming, architecture, needlework, etc. I enjoy the clean lines.
:D I find my inspiration from Craftster, but also from trying to be frugal to solve problems around my house! The number of things you can make for yourself without having to buy and being able to make them pretty with crafting is fantastic!
I am a new follower to your blog. I love embroidery work. You gave me an idea to make cute Thank you gifts for my grandkids teachers this semester. I am finding more inspiraton from blogs as of lately. esterling9 at aol dot com
Followed!! It would be amazing to win a hoop - but I'm also excited to see what the hoop looks like!
I love embroidery but am not too good at it myself :) I get my inspiration from the great peoples on Craftster and a lot of it comes from what I need at the moment
Hello! Its me from blossom tree valley! I think your embroidery is amazing! :) My crafty inspiration is my appreciation for all things! It sounds pretty random but I like to see the beauty in all things, even things that others think are horrible. Oh and nature! :)
Trying to post.;0) My crafty inspiration comes from nature, crafty blogs and my piles of crafty books.
my inspiration come from things i love. tv shows, movies, songs, random quotes, magazines, websites, books. i find inspiration every where!
i love your stuff!
Most of my inspiration comes from Craftster and google images. Although most of my crafty ideas happen when i'm in the shower with no paper to write them down! :)
Can't wait to see the hoopla you made!
I'm so jealous of all the hoopla swaps and desperately want to join. It's my goal to learn to embroider this uni break. Thanks for posting the felt backing tutorial. I think i'm going to need it to hide my messy stitches!
Hi Troublet!! Let's see, where do I get my crafty inspiration from??? It comes from other people's crafts (ie - craftser, raverly), nature, just about anywhere really. Some things come straight from my imagination. :D
I'm posting my most recent hoop from Round 5 as one of my 50 projects. I'm almost done with it! I just have to remember how I've attached the backing in the past! urg!
Hi Becka and Rebecca! :D
Becka - I can't wait to see your first hoops. Feel free to pick my brain if need be. :)
Rebecca! - Your lotus flower is one of my favorites on my hoopla wall. :D
I feel like I get most of my crafty inspiration in those few minutes between waking up and opening your eyes. That is when I get my best ideas and great designs.
Wow, where does my inspiration come from? A combination of places really. I think of something I want to make for my kids, or as other gifts (or I just think of a person who needs a gift) and then I go online for ideas. Craftster, several different craft blogs, or just google searches. I just love finding the perfect gift for someone.
I seem to be blog comment challenged! OK trying again! I LOVE that hoop! My inspiration comes from craft websites (including craftster and people's blogs), craft books, my dd and shopping. I'm the queen of thinking "it can be made!!"
